Lauryn Hague performed her open solo to "The Doll" in the 13-14 year-old Category.  Lauryn was awarded a Diamond award for her solo.  Ms. Lois was the choreographer and instructor for this performance.

The entire JDC will soon be competing and I will try to note those times for you.

Tori entered the Holiday Pageant and was named the thirteen and older Holiday Pageant Queen.  It's easy to see why she was named the Queen.

Lindsay Hague performedher jazz solo to "Tough Lover" and was awarded a Diamond and placed Eighth overall.  Her performance was choreographed and taught by Ms. Rachel.

Tori Kiser competed her contemporary solo in the 17-19 age category and was awarded a double diamond and placed third overall.  Her solo to "Right on Time" was choreographed by Hannah Bloch.

It's not often that a dance company has even two sisters in the company and here JDC has three performing and competing sisters - the Hague sisters - Lindsay, Lauryn and Aubrey.  They performed their awesome trio again to "Build a Snowman" in the Open category and were awarded a Diamond award and placed 8th overall.  This performance was choreographed by Ms. Lois.  Lindsay is a senior this year, too.  I will be so sad to see these girls graduate - Tori has been with us since she was probably two or three years old and the Hagues came to us three seasons ago.  Lauryn and Aubrey also compete Level Six for Jax Gym.

Tori and Lily have performed duets for the past two years - this will be their third year to compete together and emotions were a little raw as they realized that this was the first performance of their last year to compete together - Tori will graduate this year and will be leaving JDC.  The girls think of one another as sisters.

Aubrey Hague performed her lyrical solo in the nine-ten year-old category and was awarded a Diamond Award.  Her solo to "Opportunity"  was choreographed by her oldest sister, Lindsay Hague.

Kennedy Ruhter was Fourth Runner up in the 7-8 year-old Holiday Pageant.

Hayes McMahan was Third  Runner Up in the 9-10 year-old Pageant.  Lily Overholser was awarded a Pageant Achievement Award. I have always said that Huff 'n Puff, JDC and Jax Gym has the prettiest young ladies in the area and I think honestly, it is because they exercise so much.

In dance competitions, the ages of the performers are averaged.  Tori Kiser and Lily Overholser competed their contemporary duet to "Keep You Safe" in the thirteen-fourteen age category and were awarded a Double Diamond and placed Fourth Overall.  Their performance was choreographed by Casia Basia.

Hayes McMahan performed her lyrical solo to "What a Feeling" in the nine-ten year-old category.  Hayes was awarded a Double Diamond Award and placed 9th Overall.  Her performance was choreographed by Mr. Rachel.

Busy Weekend for Huff 'n Puff, JDC and Jax Gym

The weekend of December 4-5, 2021 was a very busy weekend for staff, JDC and recreational dancers, recreational and competitive gymnasts, and ninja students who represented Huff 'n Puff in the Jacksonville Christmas Parade.  Other competitive Jax gymnasts, Levels One, Two, Three and Silver, competed in the Glitter Extravaganza at Cabot Gymnastics.  A few JDC (Jacksonville Dance Company) dancers competed in a  Talent on Parade Competition in Branson, Missouri.  It is hoped that future dates will not be as strung out but with large competitive teams--Jax Gym--and many of our dancers in both JDC and Jax Gym, its going to be a busy few months ahead.

The following are the pictures that I have of the dancers and their results - good work for such an early dance competition.

Kennedy Ruhter performed a Musical Theater Solo to "Let Me Entertain You.  This is Kennedy's first year with JDC and she earned a Diamond Award - her solo was choreographed by Ms. Lois.
