First performance for JDC in the Large Group Session was the Large Tap Group's performance to "Get Me Bodied" which was taught by Ms. Emily and Ms. Sara. The group, average age twelve, won a First Place. Front row dancers are Kira Jinkins, Micah Perry, Hannah Moler, Amber Bajorek, Briyana Isaac, Ryann Young and Kaitlynn Coleman. Back row dancers are Stephanie York, Jessica Holeman, Kaitlin Soderlund, Bailey Jo Rhodes, Carol Walters and Alex Adams. Kassie Shepard is also a member of this group but was unable to perform due to the volley ball-connected-sprained ankle.
This large lyrical group, average age twelve, performed to "In My Arms" and won a First Place. The performers, instructed by Ms. Lois, are (first row, left to right) Bailea Jones, Kira Jinkins, Amber Bajorek, Micah Perry, Madi Spears and Alex Adams. Back row are Tori Spears, Jessica Holeman, Niki Rodgers, Amanda Hicks, Christina Hensley and Jessica Gardner. Also dancing and not shown in this photo was Julia Johnson, shown below.
Competing Hip Hop to "Closer" in the large group category, average age thirteen, and winning High Score, First Place, are the dancers shown in this picture. Front row dancers, left to right, are Rachel Wyrick, Bailea Jones, Kendra Lytch, Mackenzie Blanchard, Tori Hanley and Taylor Rai Johnson. Second row are Joi Smith, Maitland Hurley, Cassidy Eberle, Kaitlin Soderlund, Carol Walters and Jessica Holeman. Back row are Stephanie Singleton, Alana Whatley, Kayla Vasquez, Amanda Cross, Jennifer McDonough and Tori Spears. The hiphop dancers, who utilize chairs in their performance, not only won a top First Place, they also won Tenth in the Top Ten Large Group Teen Performances.
The Jazz Dancers performed to "Get Up Off That Thing" and won a First Place. The dancers, who performed in the average age thirteen category, from left to right, are Bailea Jones, Kaitlin Soderlund, Niki Rodgers, Courtney Ellis, Stephanie York, Joi Smith, Tori Spears, Amanda Cross, Jennifer McDonough, Jessica Holeman and Stephanie Singleton. These dancers are instructed by Ms. Lois.
These dancers performed HipHop to "Krazy" in the Line Division, and won a First Place Award and Fifth in the Line Performances. They are instructed by Ms. Lois. This picture was taken at a previous competition and not all the performers are in it. Performing Saturday at the competition were: Mackenzie Blanchard, Regan Campbell, Kaitlynn Coleman, Amanda Cross, Cassidy Eberle, Paris Fonseca, Jessica Holeman, Maitland Hurley, Julia Johnson, Bailea Jones, Kendra Lytch, Micah Perry, Alexandria Pettus, Tegan Rae, Stephanie Singleton, Joi Smith, Emily Snell, Madi Spears, Hannah Taylor, Mattie Taylor, Katie Turner, Kayla Vasquez, Carol Walters, Alana Whatley, Rachel Wyrick, and Michael York.
Bailea Jones, Madi Spears and Katy Gorden performed their lyrical trio early Sunday morning. They performed to "Broken" and won a Second Place. Ms. Lindsey is their instructor.
JDC will compete in the Talent on Parade Competition in Little Rock on April 24-25-26.
