JACKSONVILLE GYMNASTICS MEN’S TEAM

FINISHES COMPETITIVE SEASON AT   ARKANSAS STATE MEET

The team members of the Jacksonville Gymnastics USAG Men’s Team competed in the State Meet Saturday, March 31^st that was hosted by Champions of Jonesboro at their Jonesboro gym.  Competing teams were the host team, Champions (the combined Champions team from Paragould and Jonesboro), Flame Gymnastics of Fort Smith, Sonshine Academy from Conway, X-Treme Gymnastics of Fort Smith, and Jacksonville Gymnastics.

The four gymnasts from Jacksonville are Jonathan Hand who competes as a ten-to-eleven year-old Level Four.   The Level Five Team members are Michael York, who competes as a ten-to-eleven-year-old, and Christopher Leirer and John Taylor, who both compete in the seven-to-nine-year-old category.

Six events are competed in men’s gymnastics as opposed to the four events in women’s gymnastics.  The six events are Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar.  The gymnasts are scored on each event and then the six scores are totaled for the individual all-around

score.

The Jacksonville Team received the Fourth Place State Championship  Team Banner.  Coach of the team is Kenneth Leirer.
