2007 - 2008 competition season

JDC competed two tap groups this year and these dancers have inspired more to compete with them next season.

2007 - 2008

sHOWBIZ COMPETITION - JAN 12, 2008

Small Group Tap, age nine, “Five, Six, Seven, Eight” won a First and then they won Fifth out of Top Ten in the Junior Division.   Dancers in this group, instructed by Ms. Kim, are Amber Bajorek, Lauren Boatman, Kaitlynn Coleman, Maurie Gangluff, Kira Jinkins, Alexandria Leirer, Taylor Mays, Micah Perry and Heather Weth.

The "Five-Six-Seven-Eight" tap dancers, competed in the Junior Age bracket (ages Nine to Eleven) and won, not only a First-Place Award but they also won Fifth in the Top Ten Acts for the Junior Division.

Small Group, Tap, age twelve, “Dancin’ Fool” won a Second-Place Award.  Instructed by Ms. Sara, these dancers are Jessica Holeman, Briyana Isaac, Hannah Moler, Bailey Jo Rhodes, Kassie Shepard and Kaitlin Soderlund.

The "Dancin' Fool" dancers performed their tap in their spiffy costumes and shoes and won a Second Place.

2006 - 2007

Dancing Tap in Small Group, Petite Division, age six, in Show Biz Dance Competition held at the Hot Springs Convention Center to “Shake Senora” were Carson Alvarez, Jillian Bratton, Amanda Crews, Kara Hutchinson, Alexandria Leirer and Hannah Reynolds.  The dancers, instructed by Ms. Naomi Bratton, were awarded a First Place, Second High Score.

These JDC Dancers performed tap to “You Can’t Stop the Beat” in Large Group, Petite Division, age eight, at Show Biz Competition and won a First Place.  Front row, from left to right, are Amber Bajorek, Chelsea Livingston, Maurie Gangluff, Briyana Isaac, and Kaitlynn Coleman.  From left to right, back row are Kira Jinkins, Alexandria Adams, Heather Weth, Hannah Moler and Micah Perry.  Ms. Kimberly Holladay is the instructor of these dancers.

Posing here in recital photo, even though these young dancers were good to begin with, they continued to improve at each competition and were among the top at each performance.  They represented the best for which  Jacksonville Dance Company stands.

Also dancing Tap in the Junior Division, age 11, to “I’m Just a Girl” were Jessica Holeman, Jessica McCauley, Bailey Jo Rhodes, Kassie Shepard and Kaitlin Soderlund.  The dancers, instructed by Ms. Laurel Spears were awarded a Second Place.

These Junior Tap Dancers, shown here in their recital photo, continued to delight the audiences with their dancing and also brought home top honors in one of our competitions, along with a $300 check for the studio.  Great going, ladies!

Shown here are the Senior Dancers who performed a tap dance to “Mr. Pinstripe Suit” and won a Second Place at Show Biz Dance Competition held at Hot Springs Convention Center.  Front row, the dancers from left to right are Kelsea Bruce, Jessica Raines and Stephanie York.  Standing from left to right are Hannah Ellis, Madison Hurley, Jenna Cummings, Emiley Bee, Ashley McCutcheon and Lindsey Sweet.    Ms. Tammy Christensen is the instructor for this large tap group.  The dancers also placed second in the top awards for the senior dance division.

"Mr. Pinstrip Suit" dancers brought home top honors in their competitions.  The dancers were instructed in several of their competitions by  Chris.  The dancers won Elite Top Firsts and showed off their talents and technique in their Broadway-type performance that delighted the audiences.
