Jacksonville Gymnastics Men’s Team Competes in Large
Meet
against Gymnasts from Three Other States
The Jacksonville Gymnastics USAG Junior Olympic Men’s
Competitive Team competed this last weekend at a very large meet hosted by Flame
Gymnastics at their gym at Ft Smith. There were three other states represented
besides Arkansas - Louisiana, Oklahoma and Missouri. The nine competing teams
were: Gymsport, Shreveport, Louisiana; American Gymnastics, and Oklahoma Gold,
Oklahoma; Springfield Gymnastics, Missouri; and Champions – Jonesboro and
Paragould; Sonshine, Conway; Jacksonville Gymnastics; X-Treme, Ft Smith; and the
host team, Flame, from Ft Smith.
The
Jacksonville team members are Jonathan Hand, who competes age 10 – 11, Level
Four; Christopher Leirer and John Taylor, who compete age seven – nine year,
Level Five and third team member, Level Five, Michael York who competes age 10 –
11 bracket.
Jonathan won Second on Floor, fourth on pommel
horse, first on rings, first on vault, fourth on parallel bars and first on high
bar and won Second Place Individual All-Around in his age bracket, Level Four
with a 49.8 score.
Michael won Fourth Place Individual All-Around
with a score of 51.4.
Congratulations to all four of our boys. This
was a very large meet and they competed very hard and well-represented
Jacksonville. Kenneth Leirer coaches the boys’ team.
