JAX Gymnastics Holds First

Trampoline and Tumbling Competition

in Arkansas

JAX Gymnastics, located at 4101 Richards Road in North Little Rock, hosted Arkansas' first ever Trampoline and Tumbling competition Saturday, February 18.  Eleven athletes competed in the Trampoline and Tumbling disciplines: Trampoline, Tumbling and Double-Mini Trampoline.  This event marked the first of five competitions that the Arkansas athletes will attend during their first season.  The athletes began training for competition last year when JAX Gymnastics started the first trampoline program in Arkansas.  During the competition, ten of the athletes qualified to  compete in the Arkansas State Competition to be held April 14th.  The JAX gymnasts range in age from seven to fifteen years of age.

The sport of trampoline became an Olympic sport in 2000.  Similar to gymnastics, competitive trampoline requires athletes to flip and twist as if the laws of gravity don't apply - athletes can reach heights of over 20 feet.

Pictured below are the members of the Jax Gymnastics Trampoline and Tumbling Competitive Team who competed at their first meet.  This team is the only Trampoline and Tumbling Team in the State of Arkansas.  Front row, from left to right, are Madison Langley, Maddie Young, Olivia Phillips, Reagan Hodson, Payton Wallace, Hannah Newman, Charlie List, Lindsey Compton and Coach Erin Powell.  Standing in back are Meagan Rollins, Andrew Wise and Elizabeth Williams.
