JACKSONVILLE GYMNASTICS

HOSTED BY:

JACKSONVILLE GYMNASTICS

DEC 9 - 10 - 11, 2011

LAKE HAMILTON JUNIOR HIGH

WEST OF HOT SPRINGS, AR

Ninety-two gymnasts from the 100-member Jacksonville Gymnastics Competitive Team competed in the three-day Pepsi Challenge Meet which was hosted by Hot Springs Gymnastics Team at the Lake Hamilton Junior High School, December 9-10-11, 2011.  The meet was attended by nearly 475 gymnasts, Levels Two - Ten, from 20 teams from Arkansas and Louisiana.  The meet began Friday afternoon and ended late Sunday evening, with Jax Gym attending six of the seven sessions, with their Levels Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten participating in the meet.

A note of explanation - it was very difficult to be sure of the placements of the gymnasts as the names and placements were called out so quickly that even with people assisting me, it was not always possible to get the placements.  I apologize if I have incorrectly listed a placement.

The Jacksonville Gymnastics Level Three Team competed with 55 gymnasts in the Friday night session of the Pepsi Challenge Competition.  Team awards are not usually given in Arkansas for Level Three honors; however, the Jax Gym team  competed well.  Competing for Jax Gym Level Three team were:  Sidney Andrews, Mae Armstrong, Nashira Bell, Ashlynn Black,  Hannah Boswell, Taylor Brown, Riley Craig, Emma Dill, Revell Hogan, Caroline Jolly, Mia Jones, Jasia Joshua, Melanie Mackey, Katherine Miller,  Madison Moon, Kaitlyn Morin, Abby Nelson, Bree Williams and Johanna Wolter.

Jacksonville Gymnastics Level Three Team gymnasts are shown here after competing in the Pepsi Challenge Competitive Meet Friday night.  First row gymnasts are Emma and Caroline.  Second row gymnasts are Abby, Bree, Taylor, Melanie, Kaitlyn and Riley.  Seated on block are Sidney and Ashlynn, and standing in back row are Hannah, Mia, Jasia, Madison, Mae, Nashira, Johanna and Katherine.

All names in all of the pictures are listed from left to right.

(A reminder - event scores for each gymnast are added together to determine the Individual All-Around placements.  The gymnast does not have to win first on each event to earn the All-Around Honor.  When a gymnast wins the Individual All-Around First Place, it means that her event scores totaled the highest score. )

Top (first, second or third) honors were awarded to the following Jax Gym Level Three gymnasts:

The Jax Gym Level Two Team gymnasts competed early Saturday morning at the same time as 47 more Level Three gymnasts competed.  Unfortunately, the other gyms did not compete their Level Two teams at this meet, so our gymnasts competed against each other.  The meet, however, afforded our youngest gymnasts the opportunity to be in the competition arena and to perform their skills in front of the judges, etc. and become more comfortable competing (not that they weren't already comfortable - not a care in the world when it comes to these young ladies!!!)

Competing for Jax Gym were the following Level Two gymnasts:  Cassidy Alford, Anna Baggett, Tristan Brown, Kenzie Howerton, Kasha Lincoln, Sara Grace Moss, Abby Reed, Lakin Shaw, Madilynn Sober, Isabella Staggs, Whitney Stewart, Toula Parkin and Tessa West.

Shown here, from left to right, front row are Cassidy, Kasha, Lakin, Sarah Grace, Tessa, Abby and Anna.  Gymnasts on second row are Tristan, Madilynn, Parkin, Kenzie, Isabella and Whitney.

Coach Stacy told the young ladies that they could make a funny face for me - Too Cute!!!!!

Jax Gym Level Two gymnasts are ages four to seven.  For the Pepsi Challenge, the team was split into two age groups by the company that ran the scoring for the meet.  Parkin won First-Place Individual All-Around for the younger group and Sarah Grace Moss won First-Place Individual All-Around for the older group.
