Showstopper Dance Competition held at

The competition began Sunday morning with Jessica Holeman competing a modern lyrical to "Danger Keep Away." Jessica won a Gold Award for her dance that was choreographed by and taught to her by Ms. Sara.

The Sunday competition for JDC began in earnest for the groups about 1:45, starting off with the performance to "Boom, Boom, Pow," the hiphop tap number choreographed and taught by Ms. Emily.  The dancers, who won a Gold Award, were Kira Jinkins, Hannah Moler, Bailey Jo Rhodes, Kassie Shepard, Kaitlin Soderlund and Tori Spears.   In addition to winning the Gold, the dancers won First Place in Top Ten.

 

Of course, this picture was also taken at the past competition, but I can bet that this group of dancers looked just like this for this competition, too.  From left to right are Kira, Kaitlin and Bailey Jo.  Back row are Tori, Kassie and Hannah.

 

The next performance was character tap to "Five Guys Named Moe," which was choreographed and taught by Ms. Sara to Jessica Holeman, Bailey Jo Rhodes, Kassie Shepard, Kaitlin Soderlund and Tori Spears.  This group won a Gold Award for their performance.

The "Five Guys" are Kassie, Kaitlin, Tori, Bailey Jo and Jessica.

 

Performing lyrical next to "Miss Invisible" were Kaitlynn Coleman, Jessica Gardner, Katy Gorden, Laurel Hill, Jessica Holeman, Madison Winstead and Rachel Wyrick.  The dancers, taught by Ms. Lindsey, earned a Gold Award and proudly placed Fifth in the Top Ten.

The Senior Lyrical dancers performed to "Let It Be."  This performance, taught by Ms. Lois, earned a Gold Award.  Dancers in this performance were Amanda Cross, Allyson Ferren, Jessica Holeman, Joi Smith, Tori Spears and Madison Winstead.  Briyana Isaac was unavailable to compete dance as she also was in St. Louis competing gymnastics.

The next performance was by Tap Three Class to "Hoodie."   The dance, choreographed and taught by Ms. Sara, was performed by Alexandria Adams, Jessica Holeman, Hannah Moler, Bailey Jo Rhodes, Kassie Shepard, Kaitlin Soderlund and Tori Spears.  The performers earned a Gold Award and also won Third Place in the Top Ten.

The Jazz Two Dancers performed to "I Gotcha" and won a Gold Award and they also won the Second overall out of top Ten.  Dancers in this group are Amanda Cross, Bailea Jones, Joi Smith, Kaitlin Soderlund, Tori Spears, Carol Walters and Madison Winstead.  The dancers are taught by Ms. Sara who also choreographed the number.

Awards followed these performances and we are so proud of our dance groups - not only for earning the Gold Awards - but just look at this - First, Second, Third and Fifth out of the top ten performance groups in this age category!!!

 

Following the late afternoon awards, the Senior Hiphop Dancers performed to "Boom" and won a Gold Award and also received Third Over-All for their age category.  The performance is choreographed by Ms. Lois and the dancers are Mackenzie Blanchard, Amanda Cross, Maitland Hurley, Bailea Jones, Niki Rodgers, Joi Smith, Kaitlin Soderlund, Tori Spears, Kayla Vasquez, Carol Walters and Rachel Wyrick.

And last, but certainly not least, in the Super Performance Category was the Hiphop performance to "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" that also won a Gold Award and received Fifth overall for the performance. This number, choreographed and taught by Ms. Lois and Ms. Sara, features  dancers, from youngest to oldest, who work very, very hard.  The performers in this number were:  Reagan Campbell, Abbye Cody, Madison Coffer, Kaitlynn Coleman, Keyerra Collins, Amanda Cross, Chandler Dean, Bailea Jones, Micah Perry, Alex Pettus, Niki Rodgers, B. J. Smith, Joi Smith, Emily Snell, Hannah Taylor, Mattie Taylor, Neely Taylor, Katie Turner, Kayla Vasquez and Rachel Wyrick.
