PAGE THREE - FEW SHOTS OF BRANSON LANDING

JACKSONVILLE DANCE COMPANY MEMBERS ATTEND
THE 2009 – TALENT ON PARADE NATIONALS CONTINUED

And just look at whom we ran into first - our friend Chris from Talent on Parade
This is a pic of the large new Hilton Hotel behind the Rail Station - It is all a part of the "Branson Landing, I think, and the competition was held back on the lower floors of the curved part of the hotel.
Looking down into the Branson Landing with the fountain and beautiful flowers and beyond that the dancing waters. Shops lined all parts of the streets - up and down and cross streets.
Looking at the dancing waters with the colorful flowers and water in front and the river - lake inlet??? and homes behind.
Looking back up to the shopping area from in front of the dancing waters area.
Some of the dance kids enjoy the sunshine (boy, was it hot!) camaraderie and a chance to rest before they started shopping! This was another fountain area above the dancing waters area. The snow cone people were over to the right taking advantage of the hot weather for their business. In the evening, a man played enjoyable music on some sort of keyboard. People sat around and relaxed and enjoyed the area.
Shops lined the center brick-laid street area. The trolley ran back and forth from one end to the other end - for those of us who were worn out from walking. Just assume that the areas above were either offices or condo-type apartments. There were several wonderful food establishments in this area. We had lunch at the Mexican food establishment - can't think of the name right now - where they prepared food from Mexico, rather than Tex-Mex and it was wonderful food! We also ate down at the bottom of this street past the Bass Pro Shop - think it was called Fish and Steak and it was quite good, too.
It didn't take long for our group to separate and hit shops along the way.
The younger girls were heading in to "Pink" to see what was featured in their part of this shop.
Taking advantage of the sales at the White House Black Market Shop!
Well, we know what the guys did while the girls were shopping!
And we met up with other friends who were out shopping, too!
Later in the day we were drawn back to the Dancing Waters area by the loud booms and the fire show.
I tried and tried to take the photo at just the right time to get the right picture with all the flames and water high, etc. The kids will tell you that my camera is slow so timing is difficult!
I finally got it nearly timed. Success, sort of!
This is looking down the inlet from the Fish and Steak House - Bass Pro Shop was to the left. I never noticed that white house down at the end when we were wandering about, but think that was the houseboat coming up the river, although it does not look as large as it was. It was hotter than all get out up there but was really pretty scenery.
Same as above
