Shortly after the hiphop performance, several of the dancers had to be ready for the senior jazz performance to “Get Up Off That Thing” that won an Elite Top First and also won the First Place in the Top Five Intermediate performances.  The announcer called them the National Champions of the Intermediate Division, so supposedly any of our First-Place winners would be National Champions in their age group of the Intermediate Division. Each day of the competition featured a different theme for awards which were given for the most spirited dance company for that particular theme of the day.  Thursday, the theme was Sun Glasses Day; Friday, the theme was Crazy Hat Day; Saturday was Support of your Dance Studio; and Sunday was Support in Fighting Breast Cancer.  Jacksonville Dance Company won that Spirit Award – the dancers and parents all wore pink JDC Breast Cancer T-shirts or pink shirts.  JDC was pleased to be the spirit selection for the day and to win a very nice trophy for that.

We all want to thank the parents of the "When You Grow Up" dancers and the others that made the wonderful JDC signs.  The "When You Grow Up" performers are the  youngest of the Company and we really appreciate their Company spirit!!!!

Our appreciation is extended to all of our dancers and their parents.  We have the best parents and supporters for both dance company and gymnastics team, as well as our recreational parents.  We thank all of you for your continued support.

All in all, it was a great competition with some fantastic dancing and JDC was very pleased to do so well in the competition.  Will try to add more casual photos on Wednesday afternoon or evening.

Company technique classes are starting this week of July 13th.  If you are interested in your child participating in company classes, auditions will be held August 8 and your child should be attending the Company Preparation Classes NOW to prepare for the auditions.
