Dress Rehearsal - Saturday, June 13, 2009 - 9:00 a.m.

The 2009 Huff 'n Puff Dance Recital was held Saturday Night, June 13, 2009 (and it was a huge success and more about it later) - but before the performance is always the dress rehearsal. We've always heard "Bad Dress Rehearsal? Well, that means you will have a good performance." We have been so fortunate in that our rehearsals have always gone well and we've had good performances, too.

The dress rehearsal was held Saturday morning and began at 9:00, as scheduled. We always tell our parents that we will be through by noon, for sure, and I think we were through by 11:00. Several of our solo acts were not performed at rehearsal because we had several dancers who were taking their ACT that morning - and that shortened the rehearsal a bit, but our instructors had the children so well prepared, that the rehearsal went like clockwork. Thank you instructors and thank you parents.

I took some pictures - I usually just take several at dress rehearsal, but I took a few more this Saturday morning. The ones on-stage just give you an idea of what it looked like with the lights on the backdrop and how large the stage is and how small some of the dancers are. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Also, at the first of the recital, I just took photos at random, and as a dancer would walk by me, I'd ask them if I could take their picture - and you have to understand when I'm in the dark audience like that, I cannot even see what I'm taking. I can't actually see them until I get home to see them on the computer. I was quite pleased and I hope that you will be too. Near the end of the dress rehearsal, I starting taking a few group shots right after they performed.

You know by now that we practice the curtain call at the beginning of the rehearsal so that after your child's group has performed, you may take your child and go back home to rest or whatever. These are a few of the pictures of curtain call and then a large one but without all of the company dancers. The larger group pictures were taken at the performance Saturday night. As you know, photos are not to be taken during the performance as it can distract the performers and someone could easily get hurt, but during the curtain call, it is fine to take photos, so I took advantage of it and took a few of the performance curtain call.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the pictures. The rehearsal went so well and the performance Saturday night was even better.
