Performing early Friday morning (after some of the dancers stayed up to watch the midnight Fourth of July parade featuring Dolly Parton and Alan Jackson look-alike) were the “Shake” performers, competing in the Large-Group Division, average age nine to eleven.  These dancers, taught by Ms. Lois, won a Gold Award and were also awarded a Judges’ Award for the “Shake-it-up” Dancers.

Performing next for JDC were the Pom Dancers, average age nine to eleven, who competed to “Hey Little Momma.”  These performers, taught by Ms. Kim, won a Gold Award and First-Place Trophy.

 

These girls did a fantastic job - they were the best of the pom dances that I saw!!!!  Front row, left to right, are Micah Perry, Tegan Rea, Heather Weth, Amber Bajorek and Maurie Gangluff.  Back row are Alexandria Adams, Kaitlynn Coleman, Kira Jinkins, Niki Rodgers, Mackenzie Blanchard and Lauren Travis.

Performing hip hop in the average age twelve to fourteen were JDC dancers competing to “Wait A Minute.”  This group, taught by Ms. Lois, won a Gold Award.

Think all the dancers love to do the silly poses.  Their other silly pose was too silly for print - Ha!

 

 

The Large Lyrical Group, average age twelve and taught by Ms. Lois, performed to “Never Alone.”  They also won a Gold Award and First-Place Trophy.

 

As usual, beautiful job, Ladies!!  Front row - Tori Spears, Amanda Cross, Jessica Holeman and Amanda Hicks.  Second row - Tori Hanley, Jordan Rogers, Amber Bajorek, Jessica McDonough and Briyana Isaac.  Third row - Niki Rodgers, Christina Hensley, Samantha Sobba, Jessica Gardner and Madison Winstead.  What beautiful smiles, too!!!!!

 

Competing last for JDC in the Line Group Division were the twenty-two hip hop performers, average age twelve to fourteen.  These dancers, taught by Ms. Lois performed to “Rewind” and won a High Gold Award and First-Place Trophy.  They were also given the Judges’ Award for “Incredible Energy.”

Earlier in the week on Tuesday afternoon, Jessica Holeman performed her dance, which featured three dance genre – hip hop, tap and modern, to “Cure for the Itch” and won a Gold Award.  Ms. Lois instructed Jessica in her solo.

Kaitlin Soderlund performed her funky and complicated tap routine to “Three, Six, Nine” and won a Gold Award.  Ms. Sara instructed Kaitlin in her dance solo.

 

 

 

 

Kayla Vasquez competed her hip hop routine on Wednesday morning to “Fuego” and she also won a Gold Award and First-Place Trophy for her age division.  Ms. Lois has been Kayla’s instructor for her solo.

                                                                                                                                                                                    

 

Thanks to our soloists for putting forth the extra efforts that it took to perform your solos.

You each did a great job!

 

Dancers and Parents and Families - we really cannot tell you how proud we are of our dancers and how much we thank each and every one of you and your parents for making this year be so much fun.  You have each made us all proud!
