2008 LEVEL FOUR FUN MEET REALLY WAS FUN FOR THE
The 2008 Arkansas Level Four Fun Meet was recently held at Flame Gymnastics in Ft Smith. Over 200 gymnasts from 24 Arkansas teams competed in this meet that was held in several sessions. Eighteen of the 23-member Jacksonville Gymnastics Level Four Team competed in the meet. The State Fun Meet is comparable to the State Meet held for the higher levels; however, there are no team awards.
The ages of the gymnasts competing in the Fun Meet were from six years through thirteen and above. Because there were so many gymnasts of the same age, the groups were broken down into Flights for awards purposes. Competing in the meet at Level Four were eight six-year-old gymnasts, 23 seven-year-old gymnasts, 55 eight-year-old gymnasts, 63 nine-year-old gymnasts, 34 ten-year-old gymnasts, 12 eleven-year-old gymnasts, five twelve-year-old gymnasts and five thirteen and older gymnasts.
Competing for Jacksonville Gymnastics were seven-year-old gymnast, Allison Ramsey; eight-year-old gymnasts, Miranda Chambers, Sara Heil, Abby Houghtaling, Molly Johnson, Sydney McGill, Lakyn Powers, Sarah Seibel and Mattie Taylor; nine-year-old gymnasts, Sydney Baggerly, Sydney McClung, Lauren Osburn, Jadyn Perkins, Sierra Rohauer and Skylar Spaeth; ten-year old gymnasts, Ashley Hudson and Briyana Isaac; and eleven-year-old gymnast, Jessica Gardner.

Jacksonville Gymnastics Level Four Team members shown here before State Fun Meet and after a very successful competitive year, where as a team they competed in seven meets (before State Fun Meet,) and won three First-Place Team Trophies, three Second-Place Team Trophies and one Fourth-Place Team Trophy (in Shreveport). The Level Four gymnasts won 49 top individual all-around honors in their competitions and too many event honors to even count.
After the Sweetheart Meet, four Level Three gymnasts were moved to Level Four and competed – those gymnasts were Keelee Curbo, Katlin Grace, Molly Johnson and Lauren Osburn.
The Jacksonville Gymnastics Level Four Team had a very successful competitive season and the gymnasts are already working to improve their Level Four skills and are also working on new skills for Level Five. The gymnasts will work out from now until the first week in June at the present schedule. The summer schedule will come out a little later and the gymnasts will probably be working out during the day during the summer hours. We are very proud of our Level Four gymnasts and their many accomplishments during this year.
Editor's Note: I apologize for being so tardy in reporting on the Level Four State Fun Meet - I was out of town as my two sisters and I reunited with a cousin that we had lost touch with for 46 years and another cousin whom we had not seen for 28 years. We had to schedule our reunion for spring break and it meant that I had to miss the meet - I would not have missed it otherwise. I am so proud of our gymnasts and we love to go watch them as they compete for Jacksonville Gymnastics. Sheryl
