JACKSONVILLE DANCE COMPANY PERFORMS AT

ALLTEL ARENA AT RIMROCKER GAME

It was Mark Martin night at Alltel Arena Saturday night, but as far as Huff ‘n Puff was concerned, it was their night.  Members of the Jacksonville Dance Company and several members of the Jacksonville Gymnastics Competitive Team performed during pre-game and half-time ceremonies at the Rimrocker basketball game.  Forty-eight dancers performed their award-winning Christmas dances to a very large and appreciative crowd.

In the pre-game performance twenty-four members from the Jacksonville Dance Company and Jacksonville Gymnastics Team performed “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”  These younger dancers again showed why their group deserved to win the First-Place Award for the younger division dancers in the Sherwood Christmas Parade and Second-Place in the Jacksonville Parade, also younger age.

At half-time, the Junior Dancers from the Jacksonville Dance Company performed “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”  These dancers are nine to twelve years old and they delighted the audience, along with their fellow dancer, Mr. Grinch, who just happens to be one of our daddies.   This number won the Second-Place Award in the older division in both Jacksonville and Sherwood Christmas Parades.

The Senior Dancers performed their beautiful and lively “All I Want for Christmas is You.” These dancers won First-Place in the older division in the Jacksonville Parade.  These performers represented the Jacksonville Senior Dance Group that won an elite top first and were runners-up in the Talent on Parade National Championship Competition last summer.

Huff ‘n Puff had over 300 supporters at the game cheering for both their dancers and the Rimrockers.

Jacksonville Dance Company will compete in several regional competitions this year and will then attend a National Competition in the summer.  The first competition they are attending is the ShowBiz Regional Talent Competition that is being held in Hot Springs the weekend of January 13-14-15.  The Dance Company will compete the following categories:

Jazz            Ages 4-5-6           Ages 13 & Up

Lyrical       Ages 10–12          Ages 13 & Up    

HipHop      Ages 7-10            Ages 10-14           Ages 13 & Up          Elite

The Jacksonville Dance Company and Jacksonville Gymnastic Team look forward to their next appearances at Alltel Arena.

Younger members of Jacksonville Dance Company and several gymnasts from the Jacksonville Gymnastics Competitive Team performed “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” Saturday night at Rimrocker Basketball Game held at Alltel Arena.

Junior dancers from Jacksonville Dance Company perform “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” at the Saturday night Rimrocker game at Alltel Arena.  Dancing also was the mean one himself, Mr. Grinch, the father of one of the dancers.

I must apologize to the Senior Dancers - I was so excited by their performance that I forgot to

pick up my camera.  We do have good video of each performance, though.

Good job, dancers and gymnasts!!  You did a great job of representing Huff 'n Puff and Jacksonville.  We, the staff, and your parents and friends are so proud of you, the way you danced your great choreography and the performances you gave.  You honored us all.
